LAKESIDE PAINTING RETREAT
at Brentwood on the Beach

Weekend Retreat
- for acylic, watercolour, or oil*
FRIDAY JUNE 4 TO SUNDAY JUNE 6, 2010
AT BRENTWOOD ON THE BEACH
(Between Grand Bend and Bayfield off Highway 21 - approximately 1 hour from London)

This beautiful lakeside inn will host our art group for a weekend of painting and enjoying the beach. The painting theme will be "Capturing Light in Skies and Water".

Schedule for weekend:

Schedule including art instruction, demonstrations & painting time as follows -

Arrive Friday between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Saturday evening is scheduled to relax, enjoy the beach (sunsets!), pool, sauna, or hot tub. However, students are welcome to paint during non scheduled times if they want, and indoor painting facilities are available as well.

COSTS - Payment by Cheque or Credit Card as follows:

ART INSTRUCTION

Art Instruction cost is $180. + 9. GST = $189. This amount is payable to Cheryl O, and may be postdated to 1 month before the start of the course.

Note: exception for this course - regular or watermixable oils may be brought for outdoor painting, but oil painters will be asked to do the following -

a. in case of inclement weather, only watermixable oils may be used indoors (no turpentines or solvents indoors). Therefore, some oil painters also may choose to bring along watercolours or acrylics in case of indoor painting.

b. wet oil paintings (watermixable or regular) are to be stored in your vehicle and not in the rooms

ACCOMMODATION AT BRENTWOOD - Accommodation fees are paid directly to Brentwood on the Beach

Accommodation cost is additional. Please note that to participate in this retreat, you must also register to stay at Brentwood. (And because of the limited number of places available, each registrant must also participate in painting to come to this retreat.) Accommodation cost will vary depending on whether or not the registrant would like a private or double room, and also which room is chosen. If one of the listed rooms has a choice between private or double occupancy, then it will be assigned on a first come first serve basis. (The double occupancy need 2 names to be considered booked. Cheryl will try to match these up, or better yet, find a friend to come with you, to guarantee your spot.) Here is the list of rooms:

DOUBLE OCCUPANCY

Lakeview, or Huron Room $375. per person double occupancy

Pine, or [Brentwood Room - booked] $425. per person double occupancy

SINGLE OCCUPANCY

Blue Room, [Garden Room - booked], [Blue Water Room - booked], or Country Room $525.

Huron Room $600.

[Beach - booked], Teak or Pine $675.

Your Accommodation fees include:

1. Two nights accommodation (Friday and Saturday night)
2 . Friday welcome wine evening, plus all meals from Saturday breakfast to Sunday lunch.
4. Private beach access
5. Indoor saltwater swimming pool
6. Indoor sauna
7. Whirlpool
8. All taxes & gratuities

IMPORTANT NOTE: A $100. deposit, by cheque or credit card to Brentwood, will be required to hold your place, immediately upon registration. Brentwood is a popular lakeside inn, and at this time we are reserving every room for the art retreat. This however explains the early deadline for registration with Brentwood.

Step 1. Contact Cheryl to find out which rooms are still available.

Step 2. Send a cheque made out to Cheryl O
(it may be postdated no later than May 3, 2010) to:

Step 3: Contact Brentwood at 519-236-7137 and arrange to give them a deposit for the room of $100. by current dated cheque or credit card. The remainder of the accommodation fee will be due (paid to Brentwood) May 3, 2010. You may either postdate a second cheque sent to "Brentwood on the Beach" to that date, or give Brentwood a credit card that will be charged at that time.
